Ok, when did MS69 SAEs take off?

I mean, I know CoinVault is ridiculous on their prices and such, but to see a NGC MS69 set of 86-06 with a price of $1799 (reduced to $1199), when I saw them going for $399 on ebay 2 years ago (so, no 2005 or 2006) is just stupid.
I take it my PCGS MS69 set of 86-06 is worth over $2000 from their kind of reasoning
Now, honestly, I haven't been paying attention, but have they really gone up? More than, say, to $800/$600 for the series in PCGS/NGC MS69?

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I am still holding onto the set as they are for my son, but I keep going back and forth...primarily due to the spotting issue and also because I have 2 complete raw sets as well....
