Substitute a rooster for the parrot - roosters run all over the streets. If possible, put the Arecibo dish on the coin instead of a sunburst.
Salute the automobile: The greatest anti-pollution device in human history! (Just think of city streets clogged with a hundred thousand horses each generating 15 lbs of manure every day...)
I recognized the turret and I think it's great! Actually, I like the design very much - especially how the Coqui and parrot are "integrated" - the bird on the same branch as the frog's leaf. But I've only been to PR once, and while I made it to Arecibo, I never made it to one of the nature reserves.

Your sig line recalls Fats Waller's song "That's what the Bird Said to Me", a lament to the end of horse-drawn transportation:
What can the poor sparrow do When there's nothing left for him to chew? You can't get a meal from an automobile That's what the bird said to me.
To keep this on topic, I am glad that Delaware, Nevada, Kentucky, and other states with horses on their designs weren't too realistic. The race car on the Indiana state map has to be near the bottom. My favorite is still the Connecticut charter oak, which provides lots of branches for these poor birds. The worst design has to be the Florida clip-art design, which doesn't show the "manure" generated by the space shuttle.

<< <i>Georgia, Indiana, Ohio, Texas, and any others with a state outline come in a close second. >>
Anything with a state outline. Texas is especially butt-ugly, a big ole star representing the Capital in the outline of the state! Rates an F in my book for artistic appeal. You can add PA, MA, SC, MA, IL, MN & ID to the list of ugly state outline coins.
And what in the world is Helen Keller doin' on the back of the AL statehood quarter?
I like the Oregon design.

Egad! I'm officially changing my vote from butt-ugly TX and AL to the not yet coined OK.

New Hampshire by far--"Old man in the mountain"-How original--Don't they have anything else in this state? Alabama--Helen Keller? C'Mon Pa. (my state) UGH. very bad design Fla. as someone else has said---it looks like smoeone just threw clipart on a disc. Michigan-YUCH Colorado--Should have been colorized Any that uses a state outline--O, please- is there no better artistic talent around?
As for the New Hampshire coin: Why is everyone belittling it? I think it's great that Old Man of the Mountain was immortalized in coin before he expired. I'll leave it up to the natives to tell us foreigners how accurate the coin is versus the legend.

It shows a turret at el Morro fortress, a Coqui (singing tree frog), and a parrot.

Because the design is bad--Is this all New Hampshire has to offer?
Worst - PA (my state also) - although I agree with the FLA comments (at least it has 'objects of interest') - and also Ohio - yuk!

I agree that KANSAS has the worst design to date.
