Two damaged coins What to do?

Line # Item # Cert # PCGS No. CoinDate Denomination Variety Country Grade

2 1 08561640 901374 1794 1C Head of 1794 US G06BN
3 1 08561641 1434 1798 1C 2nd Hair Style US G04BN
3 2 08561642 1434 1798 1C 2nd Hair Style US Enviromental DamageBN
3 3 08561643 1434 1798 1C 2nd Hair Style US AG03BN

6 1 08561646 3665 1851-O 3CS US VF25

Total Items: 8

Should I send these items elsewhere for regrading or should I keep them in their PCGS cases? Do they have numismatic value as graded?

Depends on what damage you have. The one with the Tooling comment might be a problem. The other one is probably similar to one I have that has very minor pitting. It was returned "Environmental Damage". I plan to post a photo when I get my camera working better and get opinions.

I didn't notice this in my first reply. Their "PCGS Case" is known as a bodybag (BB). The will be returned to you in their flip, ungraded, in full ignominy with a little blue piece of paper indicating what it says on your report.

    That sure sounds offensive.

You could send them to NCS to see if they can do anything. At the very least the can slab them with the prober labeling. Not sure if ANACS will slab environmental damaged coins.

    Thanks
Is sending a coin to NCS considered unethical if they solve the problem and the coin ends up in a nice NGC holder?

Not if the damage is corrosion and further damage would be done if not treated. Also if there was artificial toning or bad haze I am sure no one would complain.
