the 1996 uncirculated silver eagle is selling for ~$50 right now...and i'm pretty sure that the mintage on this one is over 1 million...
if my math is correct, the 2006 uncirculated silver eagle with the "w" mint mark should sell for at least $200...am i missing something? >>
>>
The mintage was around 3.4 or 3.5 million if I remember correctly. What makes the 1996 so expensive is that a good chunk of them have "milkspotted". They're hard to find in pristine condition. You very well could be right on the 2006-W price. To have a true, full Unc SAE collection, you'll have to have a 2006-W

some weird status messages appearing on orders - mine all placed very early the first day, except for a lone 2 pc set on 8/31. All of the orders say "on hold" while the lone 2 pc set says "in progress". The lone 2 pc set was "on hold" all weekend - now the status changed?
This is unusual - as usually when your order is "in process" - it is nearing shipment. It is still way to early to ship.........
could they be counting the open orders of 2 pc sets for sellout? anyone else have 2 pc set orders on thier own where the status has changed from "on hold" to "in progress" ??
I have placed three different orders from Aug 30th to Sept 02. They are all "in Process" but now all say they will not ship unitl 12/8. I hope Bear is correct and we hear good news soon.
PEACE! This is the first day of the rest of your life.
I was surprised that my second 3 piece gold set which I ordered after the sell out and was placed on the waiting list went from hold status to processing. Still crossing my fingers but hoping for the best for my second set.
<< <i>I was surprised that my second 3 piece gold set which I ordered after the sell out and was placed on the waiting list went from hold status to processing. Still crossing my fingers but hoping for the best for my second set. >>
i ordered a 3 pc gold set on the 31st, order number 23146xxx and i still have a hold status, was your order number close to mine?
I ordered a 3 piece gold though before the sellout so maybe they are filling orders by name instead of order number. That order number proceeds yours fountainheadgold by 10000 orders. Its the mint so who knows whats going on. I'd be happy with just one set.
According to Coin World, the Mint sold 7500 of the three-coin gold sets during the first twelve hours. During the first day, the Mint sold 55000 of the three-coin silver sets and 7500 of the two-coin gold and silver set.

I already ordered 5 sets and want 5 more. How do I do this? They have messed me up so many times I dont want to lose another order. Do I cancel my first set then reorder the full 10 sets or do I just place another order for the 5 sets and pay the additional 4.00?
OK thanks I will do. Give me a second and I will post my order number and see where we are. Ok here we are as of 9:30am PST on 9/6 Order number: 23208922
Once you place an order it give you the order number from what I can tell is the amount sold at that time. I placed an order last week and todays order is a lot less than the original. Seems to be that way if you follow along on this thread.
That makes 10,000 orders in the past 23 hours, I can't believe their still available. The Mint has moved the silver sets off the catalog home page and hidden the gold/silver set page.
Bear---Where did you get those numbers? Please explain.

We are now too close to sell out, for further calculations.
I expect when the mint staff comes to work tomorrow, they
will post, sell out, on the above two sets.

Why it is scheduled to ship before the one I place a day ahead of it is beyond me. Maybe the mint uses the LIFO method for shipping orders.

I am amazed that the sets have not sold out yet. The mint must be delaying so stating
so that they can amass enough stand by orders for cancelled sets.

I would have to kill you. It takes into account that
the mix of sets per each order changes throughout the process.
More sets per order at the start, less sets per order towards
the end. I tried to be more conservative then a number of
people who felt that folks were ordering 4 silver sets per order.
If that were true, we would have seen 412,000 silver sets sold
and that obviously is not the case.
