1829 Dime eBay not a curl base 2

RichieURichRichieURich Posts: 8,620 ✭✭✭✭✭
The coin, ebay item #160026937646 is NOT advertised as a Curl Base 2. Although the photo has some curl in the base of the 2, the coin is NOT a Curl Base 2 worth a lot of money, at least as I am reading the Early United States Dimes 1796 - 1837 book. The desirable Curl Base 2 variety (JR-10) has a "2" that tilts rightward with the ball on the top of the "2" is to the right of the bottom of the "2".

Can someone provide a link to the auction? Thanks.

I don't see any reference in the listing to a "Curl Base 2".image

What am I missing here? I do not see where the eBay seller ever stated or even hinted that his coin was a curled base 2. He merely represented it for what it is - a well circulated 1829 dime. Where did you get the impression that it is, or was (mis)represented as, a curled base 2?

Coinguy1 and Mr Half Dime: The seller is NOT misrepresenting this coin. Nowhere is it stated that it's a Curl Base 2. The purpose of my post was to let anyone who thought they had found this item and thought it was a Curl Base 2 because of the photo, that it is definitely NOT a Curl Base 2. In short, item is not misrepresented, but I wanted to make Forum members aware that it isn't a rare variety.

Sorry I was unclear as to my purpose in the orginal post, and thanks to Coinguy1 and Mr Half Dime for pointing this out.
