Russ is right again, and the big DDR (Cherrypickers FS-013 for those of us who still haven't received our new books) is a LOT more valuable than this one with minor doubling. Like maybe 50 x as valuable.

After missing out on a pair of them a few years ago in NGC 67 CAM ( if memory serves me right ) I do remember that one sold for $1800 and the other didn't sell. I just can't remember whose auction it was...just the coins.

Well, after an additional eMail with an image of the real deal I convinced him that his isn't it. But, he didn't end the auction. He did some edits and lowered the price to $599. He's still trying to hook a sucker.
<< <i>i am not familiar with the doubled die, machine double terminology difference....can you please explain? >>
A doubled die is caused because the doubling exists on the die itself. Machine doubling is caused because the dies or planchet jiggled when the coin was struck. A true doubled die will have rounded edges in the doubling. Machine doubling will be shelf-like.

$599? For the not-real-deal doubled die? I bought the real deal a few years ago in PR-62 for $525! Sold it later for a decent profit when I upgraded.

Hey Russ Good catch on this one. Smells like a scam to me. The other DDR's for this date almost never sell for more than $100.
Auction has now ended early due to an error. I bet the seller was getting too much email traffic. (I was about to send him a note myself since I know what they look like).
In addition, Coppercoins is correct in that it is machine doubling and not a doubled die. The first four DDR's for this date look nothing like the photos in the ebay auction. So it is really only worth a max of $20 in my opinion.

I make no guarantees. Not a scam. If it is not the correct variety then that is my mistake. But not a scam in any way.
Still no return.
