Why do eBay sellers put "you are bidding on" in their auction descriptions?

A lot of them do this. Do they think bidders can't read the auction title or look at the images? Is there some "how to sell on eBay" book that says this silliness is a good idea?

Sure, and I have "l@@k" as part of my search criteria as well, that is, to eliminate all such listings.

I'll bet it's less....which is more proof of the dumbing down of America. Next thing you know, l@@k will be the accepted spelling in Webster's.
I couldn't wait......it was over 62,000 so it still shows the "looks" have it.

It's like a power tie for ebay sellers.
