Question about the "American Eagle 20th Anniversary Silver Coin Set "

Does the uncirculated ASE in this set have a "W" mint mark...OR is the "American Eagle 20th Anniversary Gold & Silver Set (A11) " the ONLY issue of this coin with a "W" mintmark?

Pop: 20,000 or Pop:270,000 ???

Thanks.

Yes, the uncirculated silver has a W mintmark. It will also be burnshed according to what I read on the mint site -- "... the planchets used for American Eagle Uncirculated Coins are burnished, while those used for American Eagle Bullion Coins are not".

  • I just opened the brochure that was mailed from the mint on the 20th anniversay coin sets and it states that all 3 coins in the gold set will have the W on them....

Right, so that means the only regular "commom" coin in the gold set is the regular proof with W mintmark. The satin? BU coin will have a W mintmark, which is a first?, and then you have the reverse proof with a W mint mark.... also a first. 2 key coins! There will be 30,000 of the BU W mintmark, but only 10,000 total of the reverse proof W mintmark. How cool is that?.....!

both the gold set and the silver set are no brainers!
