My 4000th post.... a giveaway perhaps???

...image Just post a coin of any kind and tell the folks why you like it.
P.S. I was thinking of doing a give-away with a nice original Morgan in a cool old rattler holder, but.....image

I like this coin because the font used on the lettering is the coolest I have seen on a US coin.

  • Since I now have seen in a pic that you have multiple commem toners of the exact same type...
You should give away a few of those extra's.
Makes no sense to have the same thing twice.

    Why do I like it?
    Its a buff

I paid to much to not like it...

This coin I named "claws" because it had such nice detail on the talons.... (1881s)

  • I like this one because my kids can look at it all they want and not mess it up (anymore than it already is since it is encased in acrylic!!). It also doubles as a very formidable weapon!

Criminey... is that an actual mint error? Filled die? Never seen anything like it.
  • Yep, it's a grease strike-through. Here is a closeup...you can actually see where the metal is stressed.

I like this one because it has natural toning and a higher grade to go with it.

    Dizzyfoxx...congratulations on 4000 posts!
I like this coin that is graded by PCGS as MS66Red, I got it on ebay from Manofcoins.
The colors on the coin don't show, but it has real nice golds along the border, seems like it came from a roll. I need to reshoot itimage

    Congrats on your milestone, dizzyfoxx!

I like this coin because no one else in the whole wide world has one just like it

    image

in fact, only 3 or 4 dozen people have one of these at all, in any condition. I like it because of it's age, and beauty, and history. I like it because it was probably a charm on a girl's bracelet 200 years ago, and was therefore not lost nor worn down to nothing nor melted. I like it because it was owned and appreciated by many folks since then, and all resisted the urge to clean it, or patch the hole, or "do" anything else to it except hold it and think about where it come from and where it been, and enjoy having it, for now...
