1900-O/CC VAM?? ~ One of my finest (and most expensive) cherry picks.

About a month ago, I placed the finest known example with a collector in PCGS MS64.
Then I found this one.

I have a few pcgs O/CC's and have not sent them in for Vam desig. In my book the only O/CC worth a designating is Vam 7, although others would include the Vam 9. Any O/CC is tough in 64 & 65, nice coin.
The VAM 8B is among the clashed die varieties featured in the book "Elite Clashed Morgan Dollars" by Mark Kimpton.
The cut to the cheek is just a common bag mark. The angle & direction of the light used in my photograph seems to have enhanced it.

<< <i>The coin is actually a VAM 8B. It's the MUCH RARER clashed die variety of the VAM 8A.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but...
I had one in PCGS 64, found at ANA last year. Went to the SSDC meeting and
couldn't move it in a room full of vammers! Everybody looked at it, said nice things and
handed it back.
Dumped for a small loss on eBay.

No rain here Jack. (not counting the hurricane I'm currently being hit with).
I recently managed to sell a VAM 8A in PCGS MS65 for over $3,500.
I'm sure I'll have absolutely no problem placing this PCGS MS65 VAM 8B into the right collection... without taking a loss.
