Received this update from Whitman today about Cherrypickers Guide.

Thank you for your email to Whitman Publishing. The Cherrypickers' Guide was received last week into our warehouse. We are currently keying orders for both our customers and Mr. Stanton's prepaid orders. All orders will be filled within the next few weeks.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

<< <i>I think I would have asked them how come it was available in Denver? Didn't you guys prepay to be the first ones to get the book? >>
That's exactly what went through my mind when I saw them at the ANA also!! But I am still guardedly optomistic on whether I will get the book or not.... at least Whitman does seem to intend to. I think they will follow through... but this has sure been a long drawn out process....
I broke down and purchased one at the ANA.... if I do get my 'pre-order', will probably use it for a gift.

I ask that and a few other questions. The reply didn't answer all my questions but enough.
Putting the past aside, there is something really great here.
After all these years the book has been published and with one heck of a history.
With all the work that went into it and all the interest from collectors I'm glad it worked out.
<< <i>...the last I heard from JT he still wasn't sure if the hardback was going to be published. Any word on the hardback ? >>
The ones I saw in Denver were spiral bound hardbacks. Best of both worlds. Hard cover and spine with internal spiral so it opens flat on your desk. I saw no other binding available.

<< <i>Hardback and spiral bound. Maybe Louis will get one book for the price of two.
Better than getting zero books for the price of one, which is where the pre-order folks are now.

Trying to play catch up on the threads, I noticed your question. I got an email from J.T. recently assuring me he still had my preorder info., and yes the preorders are supposed to be numbered and signed. The same number as Volume One if you have that one.
