Statehood quarter set question

How many of you guys have put aside an complete statehood quarter set album ( unc , mint , proof , silver).
The mint threw me a curveball with the satin finish sets. I had a great deal of satisfation with my collection up untill 2005. Now I fret
Do I have to go trolling for very nice unc p&d for 2005 & 2006 to be considered complete?
I have resorted to pocket change hunting for them for now and actually have found some beauties
The P's are plentiful and D's are elusive. I admit is does give me great satisfaction when I score a nice quarter in my change but now I find myself staring at the cash register drawer when they open it for my change. Last week I hit the jackpot because I spotted a '56 Franklin in their odd change slot. I asked if I could have it and the lady gave me an odd look but said "Sure , Take it I hate getting these odd coins in the drawer."

    Welcome.

Post on BST or go to a coin shop or show for those non-satin quarter in uncirculated condition. You can probably get most for 50 cents or less.

Nice find on the '56 half. It's always fun to get an old coin for face value.

You could also try a local monthly show. You could probably pick up what you're looking for from .35 to .50.

  • yeah but the though of paying more that 25 cents for a common quarter irks me. I do it when I buy from the mint but at least I have a chance at a stunning coin. I figure all the really above average ones would have been weeded out of the 50 cent bin by now.

I have to believe most future collectors will desire examples of the non-SF
coins. Collectors almost always seek completeness above all else and these
are different than the SF coins.

I started a couple quarter sets and have them up to date , except for the roll set, I have not kept up with the rolls.

  • My YN son is doing a State quarter set in unc in the Mint album. He has everything through Colorado so far and is very pleased with his progress.

What do you think, Mr. Bigglesworth?

I'm doing a state quarter set in a lunchbox collecting thing that came with stickers and everything! image These are uncs and include both MMs. I am also doing a map from circulation that I started a few weeks ago and I have about 25 quarters. image
