    I saw an amazing show obout the mint and how it survived the earthquake and subsequent fire two nights ago on PBS ... and, it was in High Def. Truly, a must see if anyone gets a chance image

    It looks like a A-Bomb was dropped on S.F. looking at these pictures. Thanks for the link BankerJeff

    I understand that the U.S. Mint building had a water well in it's basement. The mint workers were able to use this water to keep the fire at bay, after the windows melted and the fire tried to creep in. I bet it was good and hot inside that granite building
