In Latin it means Do likewise, be similar etc. At one time there was a "colonial" coin known as the "Good Samartan Shilling" This are a silver coin roughly the size of a pine tree shilling but on one side it had a picture of on man helping another. People related it to the parable of the "Good Samaritan" from the bible and explained that the inscription Fac Simile was an admonishment to "Do likewise" or be a goodsamaritan yourself. Eric Newman proved that it was a fabrication made by Thomas Wyat in the 1860's and since then ithas dropped completely out of sight. It is somewhat difficult to even find a reference to it.

I speak spanish, not italian, but the auction says something like "Money coin with the purpose of serving the collector to get to a level of collecting in attesment to the original offering." Or something similar.
