Photographing Toned Proof Coins.. anyone use axial lighting (through angled glass) to get the color?

I was wondering what experience people had doing that.
Philately will get you nowhere....

<< <i>Looks fiamiliar. I know that drawing. Axial lighting can be kind of fiddly, and you do need a pretty good distance between the coin and the camera so you can fit a piece of glass in between. >>
yep
Muuhahahaa.
In a nutshell:
Copystand, Camera, 3 or 4 lights, photoshop 7.0 to crop and resize, and bulletproof ftp to upload to the website. Mix all these ingredients together then combine with 6000+ coins to practice with over several years. Finally, add a quart of obsessive compulsive perfectionism and bake at 350 for 2 hours or until a toothpick can be inserted and removed and stay clean.
