What fantasy coin would you like to see...

ElmerFusterpuckElmerFusterpuck Posts: 4,801 ✭✭✭✭✭
become a reality, like through a discovery or a mystery stash? It would have to be a coin isn't known to be in existence as of now. For me, it would be a 2000/1999 Kennedy half with all the old digits showing. An 1800 draped bust half would be my second.

Don't blame me for this topic, blame the cheap wine...

I'm going to take the "fantasy coin" idea in a different direction. I'd like to see a Standing Liberty Quarter Type I Obverse with a Walking Liberty Half Dollar Reverse:

1815 large cent. Then one-cent coins would have minted cents every year the U.S. Mint has been in existence.

I have many coins on my "Strange Dates" wantlist, similar to what rec78 posted. I have an 1804 draped bust half which was created from an 1805. I also have an 1815 Large cent, a 1930-D nickel, and a "19221" Peace dollar. I'm looking for a 1923-D and 1930-D mercury dime, 1818 14 stars large cent, 1846-O dime, 1891 Barber dime, quarter and half, 1931-P&S SL quarter, 1816 half, 1841 Large Letters half, 1915 Walker, 1928-D half, 1964 Franklin half, 1975 quarter, half, and dollar, and 1805 Bust dollar.

    1807 - 1836 Cap Bust silver dollars
    1931 Standing liberty quarter
    1933 Washington quarter
1807 - 1828 cap bust half dimes (large planchette)
1879 and 1880 - 4 cent piece to go along with those Stellas (similar to how the 3 cent pieces and 3 dollar Princesses were related) Someone must have needed 133 stamps and a 2 cent piece in change

Well, actually, I suppose if I have to chose, I would pick CURRENCEY.

EDIT: A "CURRENCEY" in silver would be something new, I guess. Well, a definate fantasy then.

    This one is easy.

An oversized four cent piece with a SG design. Jay would like that.
