ahhhh...ok..never thought of that >>
Should be able to even VAM that one if you have anough reference specimens around to nail the overpolished left wing (viewer's right) and tail feathers. Can almost say that is a D2 reverse.
Nope. It is definitely not a C4 reverse. But finding such a coin in PO-1 would be very cool and the ID very possible as long as you know what to look for.

It's a D reverse with an S mintmark. The fletching on the arrows is different than on other reverses. The size and shape of the S is also unique to 1921.
Just because you can figure it out doesn't insure that PCGS wil slab it. This coin has been submitted 2 times for a crossover and 1 Presidential Review (they had to love that one) and it still comes back as "unable to determine with certainty".
I suppose it could also be an 1883-CC C3b reverse. Would have to compare the upper diggit curatures and positions,.... I assume PCGS has tried to do this a couple times now.

I bought the coin raw and sent it to PCGS. It came back:
I then sent it to ANACS and paid for the variety/attribution research option and the coin came back in the current holder.
I then sent it back to PCGS for a crossover and it came back as unable to determine date. I then sent it back for a presidential review and it came back tagged unable to determine with certainty.

I wonder what it will look like as a PO-1?
