Amanda's VAM discovery coin (pictures added)

In this thread, Amanda had shown an 1888 Morgan dollar with a possible clashed 'M.' She sent it to me for VAMSlabbing. I sort of saw what could have been the M, but saw a seemingly unlisted repunched date that warranted it being sent to Leroy Van Allen as well. I got the coin back from Leroy today, and he assigned it VAM 40.
1888 VAM 40 (Doubled 1--8)
Obverse III2 31 - 1 slightly doubled as short spike below upper crossbar and notch at top right. Right 8 slightly doubled at top outside. Date at left edge of normal position.
He couldn't see the M, so he didn't note it. The M has to be pretty strong in order for him to count it.
Pictures have been added at the end.

The repunched 8 is rather similar to VAM 31, but VAM 31 doesn't have a repunched 1, and the date position is a little different. Here it is in its new home.

There is one clash there, I know.
Could be doubled.

I think it's just 1 clash. I already sealed the coin up in an envelope for mailing.
