What can you tell me about this Washington medal?

This thing is pretty big and has amazingly high relief on the obverse. It's about an inch and a half in diameter and has a smooth edge...no reeding. I don't know anything about medals.

It looks like a Baker 1825 made of bronze, also known in silver and has a Rulau and Fuld valuation of $30 in EF and $40 in Unc. By the way, it is quite beautiful.

Struck by the US Mint in 1899 in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Washington's death. It one piece out of a set of four (three?) with different reverses.

I have one in crappy condition and I appreciate seeing this pic of what it's supposed to look like. I agree with TomB -- looks great.

I've seen a couple listed on eBay that sold in the $10-$30 range, but yours is nicer.

Cool. Thanks for the information. Now if I can just find a flip or envelope big enough to put the darn thing in!
