Great strike, rims very intact, just ticks but no apparant rub, nice lustre.

I voted for 62... I do not like the surfaces. Great strike and it looks attractive but not original.

  • Hate to jump on the bandwagon but I have to say 63 as well. I like it alot.

Neat die clash visible in the turban. I'll also give it a 63.

    62 maybe 3at Pc
  • 58, slight rub on some high points and luster break in the fields.

  • Even though it's horrible to grade a photo.....

I said 62 but it looks like some rub/cleaning on the top of the cap, and right side of face, although the cheek looks pretty clean. The clouds look like some rub/cleaning on highest point. Since we know a 62 can be a 58 slider I'm covered for 58 to 62 !! image

    AU50

Judging by the image... More than a trace of rub and breaks in the field- 55 at the highest... netted down to 50 for a few minor marks.

    Love that design.

To my eye, I see a boinked 58 gold coin.

    58. No loss of detail, but luster breaks seem to be on liberty's shoulder and in obverse fields. Reverse rub on clouds.

The reverse looks MS, but the obverse marks lead me to believe NGC MS61. PCGS might go AU58.

I say AU58. There is obvious rub & luster breaks. In a more recent coin the field disturbances might be enough to make it a 55, but it seems like grading is more forgiving with stuff of this vintage. That said, it would not amaze me if the services called it 62. I think it is gorgeous. The strike, for one thing, is outstanding. The pic suggests at least some P/L flash, too. I bet it is really, really pretty in hand.

    I guessed MS64....

Obverse looks 63...Reverse looks 65, so I netted 64. Probably in a NGC holder. Definitely a cool coin!

    63. I see no rub. Just a few too many hits and a little too much chatter in the fields for a 64. Very nice looking coin.

Interesting results. PCGS graded her AU58, probably for the very light redding of the highest points and for the luster breaks in the fields.

PCGS graded it AU58 because it's rotated in the slab. image

Cabinet friction on the reverse? The coin looks uncirculated to me. without looking I'll call it 63 due to the obverse chatter.

I can see that many say it's AU58 due to wear on the high points. But given this is a 205 year old coin, I would attribute this to cabinet friction. I graded it MS60.
