Can anyone help? I just bought my first cards from this set. It was a blaster box from Target. I pulled an Andy Pettitte jersey and mini Black Border #181 Larry Bigbie. I also got this card that says it is "Rip Card". It says I can keep it intact or rip it. What should I do and are these hard to pull? Any help would be greatly appreciated. If anyone needs any of these let me know too.

The Rip Card is a very nice pull. I'd probably leave it intact, but I suppose it depends to some degree who's on it.

What's the number on your Rip Card. is it #/99, /25, or what? if It's #/99 then you can probably get around $100 for it on ebay. If it's more rare, than more.
Personally, I'd rip it --- there are some really cool things you can get. You can also sell just the ripped "shell" after you rip it if you rip it carefully and sell the contents separately.
Elemenope ---- The auto groupings are on the blaster box and regular box --- if you're only buying packs you wont' be able to see them. I don't have a box in front of me with the info but I can try to look it up later tonight.

Thanks to a few trades Ive gotten most of the base cards. I working on the mini base set and it is a doozy!! Im still 200 cards short. Im also looking for autos and bazooka backs. I have all the base cards for trade..plenty of SP's. I also have A&G backs and no numbers. Also a good deal of GU.

Is anyone else having problems with dinged corners right out of the box and right out of the pack? I've had more than a few come out that way.

Yes, the SPs carry all the way through to the black mini set. A John Smoltz SP base card is also a John Smoltz SP Black mini.
I just traded almost all of my black minis away -- only have Ryan Howard and Mickey Mantle left. That said, I bought 13 eight pack blasters online a few days ago. They'll take a week or so to arrive, but I should pull at least a handful for you.

I picked up the new release pricing for everyon here. If anyone needs a price please shoot me a PM, please don't abuse this, I can't look up every card. I will try to put some of the basics below. My first observations are that the rarer mini's book really well, with Mantle and Danica leading the pack. Some of the autos are a bit low, but for the most part not bad. The rip cards are booked way to low, so are the rip exclusives.
I'm attempting a complete set and have about 130 of them, including the Danica, Mike Tyson, Clemente, Josh Gibson, Nolan Ryan and others.
Any idea on the value? Thoughts on what a complete set might fetch? With only 25 cards of each in existence, I can't imagine more than a handful of complete sets ever get assembled.

The Bazooka's didnt' price...good thing, they are going for good prices on the bay and the beckett prices would only bring them down. The Danica no number mini, which is the rarest parallel books for 40, so the bazooka would be maybe double that, of course ebay prices are real measure.
There is sort of a pricing order I have seen. Mantle is the highest price on all the cards except for the base which Danica is the most. Ripken and Danica are next followed by Clemente then Papelbon,Ryan and Williams.
If you put together a Bazooka set, you will have put together something really really nice...from what I have seen you are well on your way!
I am mostly a 70's Topps man new to posting, but have been reading the entertaining musings for a while. The interest in 70's aside, I bought a pack of the A&G's and thought they are the best looking cards Topps has done in ages. 1 pack led to 3 boxes and I'm torn about what to go after. Looks like the entire thing would be something like 2,500 cards which isn't very practical unless one has the last name of Olbermann.
Soon as I figure out which direction to go (leaning toward the black bordered minis since like the 2nd pack I opened was the Mantle), I would be interested in trading, if possible, rather than selling (what I would prefer to do with all my transactions). I should have want/need list soon.
Just saw a little bit of Willy Wonka last night on television and I have to say there is a bit of the Golden Ticket element with the Rip Cards. Guys flying through the "other" cards in search of the big hit. Very creative idea.

wow a 40 dollar card in the second pack you opened...thats better than 98% of the jersey cards you could of pulled and about a third of all the autos!! Thats a nice start to a black mini set. You average 3 per hobby box, so thats a tough set to build through wax. There are plenty of great traders here who can help. LMK what you need once you figure it out.

Yes, the SPs carry all the way through to the black mini set. A John Smoltz SP base card is also a John Smoltz SP Black mini.
I just traded almost all of my black minis away -- only have Ryan Howard and Mickey Mantle left. That said, I bought 13 eight pack blasters online a few days ago. They'll take a week or so to arrive, but I should pull at least a handful for you.
I'm building three parallel sets:
- Regular Mini
- A&G Miini
- Bazooka Mini
I have all of my base, no numbers, and dups of the above to trade.

Arny -- I believe the SPs are the same for all the mini parallels except the no-number minis and, of course, the #'d to 25 Bazooka backs and the woods.

Mantle and Danica leading the pack. Some of the autos are a bit low, but for the most part not bad. The rip cards are booked way
to low, so are the rip exclusives.

Minis .75/1.25 SP 5.00/8.00 Clem 6.00 Mantle 10.00 Ripken 8.00 Patrick 12.00

Do you have any info on the Bazooka minis?
I'm attempting a complete set and have about 130 of them, including the Danica, Mike Tyson, Clemente, Josh Gibson, Nolan Ryan and others.
Any idea on the value? Thoughts on what a complete set might fetch? With only 25 cards of each in existence, I can't imagine more than a handful of complete sets ever get assembled.

There is sort of a pricing order I have seen. Mantle is the highest price on all the cards except for the base which Danica
is the most. Ripken and Danica are next followed by Clemente then Papelbon,Ryan and Williams.
If you put together a Bazooka set, you will have put together something really really nice...from what I have seen you are
well on your way!

I am mostly a 70's Topps man new to posting, but have been reading the entertaining musings for a while. The interest in 70's aside, I bought a pack of the A&G's and thought they are the best looking cards Topps has done in ages. 1 pack led to 3 boxes and I'm torn about what to go after. Looks like the entire thing would be something like 2,500 cards which isn't very practical unless one has the last name of Olbermann.
Soon as I figure out which direction to go (leaning toward the black bordered minis since like the 2nd pack I opened was the Mantle), I would be interested in trading, if possible, rather than selling (what I would prefer to do with all my transactions). I should have want/need list soon.
Just saw a little bit of Willy Wonka last night on television and I have to say there is a bit of the Golden Ticket element with the Rip Cards. Guys flying through the "other" cards in search of the big hit. Very creative idea.
