Well, I got my Cherrypickers, 4th Ed. Vol 2 today and..............

............ I looked at it briefly. Looks like I will have a great time reading it and checking out many of my coins to see I have any varieties of note. (My dad went to the Denver ANA on Friday, got me a copy and Fed Exed to me, with delivery this morning; THANKS DAD).

One thing that I find a little rude is that the book in the Preface and in the Credits & Acknowledgements sections (which I assume are written by one or both authors) ignores the fact that the book is long overdue and the many preordered and paid years ago. Not a mention of this problem and not an apology to those who preordered and paid in advance. The preface gives a background of "Cherrypickers" and talks of how the authors have enjoyed the experience of creating it. The Credits and Acknowledgements list multiple persons to whom thanks/credit is given and states that if they missed anyone it is with their most sincere apologies.

Geesh, it is as if the authors decided to just ignore the publishing delay and hard feelings it caused. Ignore it, write as if it never happened, do not acknowledge any mea culpa and do not offer any apology.

As stated above, a little rude. IMHO an acknowledgement of the publishing delay and an apology from the author or both authors would go a long way towards lessening hard feelings. Go figure.

That forward, along with the rest of the text, was probably written three years ago. With all of the problems people had getting anything out of J.T Stanton I doubt it was worth the effort/wait for a revision.

One question I have - the first volume was run through with dealer advertisements, are they present in this volume as well?
