That is a bunch of BUFFALO image

To think there are more than one thousand coins that are PERFECT 70s borders on outrageous.
The U.S. mint cannot produce a 70, so how did they get that way by the time they got encapsulated ?

I think the coins are beautifully designed, I think they are probably worth the price the mint is charging... In a few years, but... I do not subscribe to this CONDITION RARITY claim when I see that population number. This is the stuff buffalo chips are made of, at best.

There's two sides to that coin... many people pay stupid money for CONDITION RARITYs in Classic coins all the time too... image

Thanks for the update Robert. I am surprised not to see any MS68's when the PR'S already have 4 in 68.

It's interesting to note that the little guys are getting a higher percentage of 70 grades than the bulk submitters.

The population report is worthless, it will double within a month. To buy a coin based on it, well we all know the story. If you truly want a condition rarity population 1 grade, wear it down to a very fine, then submit it.

Why are the non-first strikes getting a bigger percentage of 70s ? image

Actually, what I find REALLY interesting, is that out of a total 27,097 mint state coins submitted, 99.74% are "First Strikes".

So, a non first-strike in ms68 would be the rarest buffalo of all??
Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

    Russ,
    How do you deduce that?

So to summarize the populations of Gold Buffalos using the words of Bill Murray from the movie Meatballs, "It just doesn't matter!"

The big question is how long it will take for the first pocket piece to be retired into a G4 or lower slab.

I have to question the accuracy of the above report. I am slowly pulling apart some of mine and putting them in 32mm holders.
