  • Be patient lord with that 2500. I have had one for 3 years and love it. Many monster finds with it as well! Try picking up one of those sholder harnesses for an oversized weedeater or you can get one from an add in the Lost Treasure mag. The harness will help you tolerate the weight. As far as repeatable signals, the GTI is kind of funny about the discriminate mode as it will give you a pop and upon further sweeps will recognize the target as not being in the range that the detector is set up for and will therefore not repeat a signal. In short, it has a slower recovery than most. The GTI 2500 will also behave in a similar manner when you have a good target that is very deep. If unsure use the one key mode switch putting it in all metal and you will hear what the target sounds like. There is no mistaking that bell tone when you have a good target but some good targets are at strange orientations or are being masked by iron and do not give you that perfect repeating bell tone and may only show it one way and only sound off when you sweep the coil at one specific angle. Try planting a test garden to get better acquainted with it. Once you have overcame the learnig curve, I know you will like that machine. Although my Explorer II seems to be my weapon of choice these days, I still use my GTI 2500 half the time because I find it much easier to use. Good luck!
