Jay, you're so hopeful I would join up with you. Actually, I would have to consider the Gay Pride Commemorative if all females looked like St. Gauden's $20...
That Olympic Commemorative with the (Rose) Kennedy (not), IS THEE UGLIEST COIN.
Worst: 1. Washington quarters (non-statehood) 1932 - 1998 2. Roosevelt Dimes 3. All Caped Bust Series Obverse, the reverse is ok
Best: 1. Saints 2. Indian Head Gold 3. Barbers ( I collect the Halves so of course they are beautiful in a Romanesque/French sort of way).
And another poll to respond too. Toughest to grade: 1. Walker's (the design while lovely is so busy a lot of hits go unspotted) 2. Buffalo Nickels (similar reasoning to the Walkers) 3. Indian Head $2.5 and $5 (Is there rub on the field that makes it non-mint state, that incuse design while neat is really tough for me)
Easiest to grade: 1. Barbers ( I am getting better since I have specialized) 2. Morgans just because they are so common and I have seen so many 3. Saints for similar reasons to the above.
Lincoln cent Memorial reverse -- a memorial on a long running commemorative Washington quarter 18th century issues -- often ugly, despite their charm Shield nickels -- generic design Two cent -- same Three cent silver -- blah Ben Franklin, Scientist -- I really don't wanna think of him like that (well, that isn't really a coin though) Eisenhower dollar SBA dollar -- duh
Barbers, both obverse and reverse. My brother gave me a bent AG when I was 7, its the only Barber I will ever own.
If you want to put Eisenhower or Susan B on a coin, its gunna be an ugly coin. With Barber's, they could have put a respectable rendition of Liberty but they blew it.

most people without knowledge of the series think the Barber dimes, quarters, and halves feature a male liberty. Sure did blow it!

(The Shriver dollar was at least as bad, but thankfully it wasn't a regular series.)
Actully Barber coins look pretty good in Proof where Liberty actually looks like a lady.
I had been thinking the SBA, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned the spagetti haired Washington quarters.
The Capped Draped Bust gold is much nicer.
<< <i>Yikes! I'd forgotten the Special Olympics dollar. Shriver wins hands down. >>
I didn't forget Eunice, but I didn't think that was a "series."
<< <i>LLoyd Mincy Gay Pride Commemorative >>
Is it butt ugly?

You're right. Its Eunice Kennedy Shriver. >>
They should have put Maria on that coin.
