Is this norm or double die?

Hey, the mintmark on this 1978-S PR Nickel looks a little bit blobbed or something, like maybe some sort of double die, can anyone help me out with this one?

    If anything, on the mintmark it would be a repunched mintmark, not a doubled die. A doubled die would be doubling of the hubbed design, and the mintmarks were hand punched, not hubbed.

    Anyhow, your mintmark is a normal one. The blob appearance was taken care of with a mintmark style change in 1979 - hence the type 1 "filled S" and type 2 "clear S" mintmarks for 1979.
