I got him booted once off of eBay (here is one of his old shills) but, like bad sushi, he keeps coming back up.

The lady that paid just under $4K will be unhappy with this one with the cloned wingtips and wreath leaves on the reverse:

Look Look Look, he's trying to go back and remove the photos from the page I made. Too bad for him I saved them to my PC and will just upload them to our server.

There is no question that his altering of pictures to make a coin look better than it really looks is just dead wrong, but the hipocracy here is really starting to turn me off. I may have to find something else to do with my spare time. You bad mouth him for trying to make as few extra bucks on his coins by being dishonest, but you fail to mention that you love him as a buyer of your merchandise and in fact some of you that posted in this thread today posted in a thread a few months ago lamenting over the fact that he had been narued and that you would be getting a lot less for your coins with him gone. Then, he takes the merchandise you sell to him and tries to flip it for a profit and now, " everyone knows his coins are crap."
Look, what he does is wrong, but some of you are just as wrong to do business with him as a buyer. I don't want to call anyone in specific out, but when he was bidding way to strong on your auctions why didn't you block him as a bidder?image

This guy is unbelievable!! Too bad of all the innocent people he's ripped off!! The "E" and "P" is obviously cloned on the obverse of this one.

Also notice the eBay sentence on the bottom of the screenshot for this one!! image

#1. He's never bought any of our stuff that I'm aware of so your post didn't actually pertain to me. Just making a point.

#2. The people who he bought stuff from DID NOTHING WRONG. dmplrainblow was the one who decided to manipulate the images by hiding flaws, cleaning, ect to decieve.

Point eBay to this thread or save the screenshot images as well.

Sorry dude, he ripped one lady off for close to $4K on one of these auctions and he has a whole slew of them that are photoshopped beyond belief.

I think a few minutes of my spare time will help others from being victimized by this low-life.

Poorguy, I respectfully submit that you are wrong. If someone lacks integrity you don't do business with them, ANY kind of business. If your going to be driven buy the almighty dollar, then tell it like it is. You can't have it both ways. And no, it is not you.

What's amazing is he still has tons of biders bidding on some really weird looking coins. Are these people idiots or what? How can they throw away a few hundred dollars on obvious garbage?

Who was saying a few days ago to only buy from Powersellers? And with good feedback?

Will eBay do anything despite all the exhaustive work? I would be surprised if they did.

    What did I miss here?

Poorguy is exposing an obvious fraud. Since eBay won't do their job fortunately someone else will. Suppose you got gipped out of $4k would you be so cavalier?

Good work Brandon. When someone is that blatantly dishonest they deserve to get kicked off Ebay. He doesn't need to be putting it to any more buyers.

RCDB, I am not familiar with the thread that you mentioned from a few months ago, so my reply is based only upon your words above: 1) The seller is drastically altering images AND severely over-grading his coins, with the obvious intent to deceive bidders; 2) He is making far more than a "few extra bucks"; 3) How many participants in this thread "lamented" that they "loved him as a buyer"? Regardless of the number, I see no hypocricy in a person's wanting someone to pay a lot of $ for their coins that they sell honestly, while, at the same time, having a problem with the buyer/DMPLrainbow then engaging in fraudulent behavior.

I have faith in eBay. They may be slow but I've seen them come around an do the right thing in the past.

Mr. Feld, I love your hypotheticals. You seem like a great guy. Now, suppose that I am a consistant strong buyer of your merchandise. After a while you notice me doing the very same thing as DMPL on EBAY selling the coins that I bought from you. You can ignore it. You can mention to me that it troubles you and ask me to stop. If I don't stop, you can stop selling to me.
I feel very stongly that I would hear from you quickly in this scenario. If I did not stop are you really saying that it would not matter to you and that you would continue to do business with me? Please tell me that you wouldn't. If you really value this hobby, you do not associate yourself with people like this in any way for any reason, the least of which should be profit.

I would not knowingly do business with that person. However, hypothetically speaking imageeven if I did, as long as I didn't engage in fraudulent behavior, I think I would still be justified in being outraged by his abhorrent conduct.

Absolutely, you should be outraged and I can tell from your posts that you always try to endeavor to do the right thing. However, those that bad mouth him while they have and would continue to take advantage of his buying habits have no right to be outraged. They should be looking at themselves in the mirror. I hope the bastage get's NARU'd for good. His ill-gotten gains have outbid me for some of the nice coins that he does not flip -- probably keeps in his personal stash.

You're being somewhat criptic in your complaints, honestly.

I know I've never done business with Gary Patch as I blocked him from the get-go years ago after I sold him a coin and he complained to me about not receiving it. After the hassle of taking photos of the insurance slip and the delivery confirmation slip along with the printout from the post office showing delivery and then emailing him those photos, I never heard from him again.

It is also possible that if someone sold him a coin or two they may not be aware of who is purchasing the coin.

I suppose you could PM the individual(s) you seem to have an issue with and address it with them? In the meantime you seem to be ever so slightly, and unintentionally, I'm sure, sidetracking this thread's focus.

Russ, I would have bet on that.

I took a look through what auctions he buys... and almost everything he has bought on eBay is problem coins which he then probably resells as problem free pieces with doctored pictures

I just recieved a call from eBay about the information we provided about this seller and our account representative told me that it is obvious what this seller is doing and is sending all of the info to the Trust and Safety team for them to investigate! She said there should be enough specific information for them to take action! WOOHOO!

I'm prepared to hunt for more if they request it. More examples posted to this thread will not hurt as the trust and safety team have a direct link to this very thread and will be reading the posts made here. I hope eBay does the right thing and puts an end to this sort of activity.

A permanent suspension of this seller is long overdue. He has prayed upon unknowledgeable buyers, by offering badly over-graded and misattributed coins and manipulating their images in a deliberate manner with fraudulent intent. Brandon, I would certainly be pleased to talk to anyone at Ebay about this if I can be of any assistance.

If it's so obvious why do they need to investigate? Do they need the guy to come out and say 'I'm a crook'?

    Great work Poorguy, CG1.

I'm sure a few of you realize that he not only 'doctors' his pics, but he has in the past 'doctored' the coin as well- I know from actual experience with hthis guy. and I did the purchase on purpose- wanted to see, and I did and so did a 'friend'.
Gary was not to thrilled when I advised him that if I do not get my $$ back, he will have a visitor on his doorstep no later than 12 noon the following day

and they have a badge to back up who they are

I had my $$ refunded overnight- he got his coin the same way he shipped

I still have the pics of it somewhere on my puter, i'll do a search.
He never left feedback, and neither did I- hell he changed his name about a week after this incident.

I'm not afraid to call in the authorities on this clown- anyone else want to assist?

A jerk like this makes it bad for a guy like me wanting to do a little side line money on the bay- it's scammers like him that make the real people leery of wanting to do biz on the bay- hell it's a game most of the time anyway.

He has auctions still out there and someone is gonna get hurt, unless it's one of his shills.

    He's still got active auctions.

Come on, Ebay, at least cancel these before more get "ripped off", then "dmplrainbow" can be NARU'd upon completion of the "investigation" (which should take 3 mintues, with Brandon's evidence).

Actually, the account rep didn't even forward the info to the Trust and Safety team until late yesterday afternoon. I also couldn't imagine that the person at T&S that is handling it had nothing to do before they got this info.
