A RoadrunnerStewView™ Libertad

1999 1 Oz. Proof
Mintage 600 pieces

I just imaged this NEWP, a rare non-US coin purchase for me. I was told if I posted it here, I would be protected from the Rubber Chicken.

Those pictures piss me off.... because I can't shoot like that. image

How in blazes do you get pure white and black cameo contrast with absolutely no reflection or hotspots anywhere???? I can't even come close.

Camera with a black body (Nikon D70), pointing directly at the coin (absolutely no angle) and three lights positioned at 4 oclock, 8 oclock, and 12 oclock. The lighting is a little uneven because I have one light that is a little different than the other two, so it sits a bit higher. You can see that on the reverse. The key to not getting any reflections is shooting directly dead on with no angle. Sometimes it can be nearly impossible with slabbed coins but if you do get some reflection it helps to move the camera further away from the coin.
