Leaving negative feedback on Ebay

I have a pending order that has gone past the point where it should have been paid and the buyer is not responding to 2 separate contacts I've sent to him/her.
Question, what do you do? If I leave negative feedback for non payment can this person neg me too? If so would ebay allow that?
What would you do?
Thanks!
Tom

have you filed the NPB? How much dough are you talking about?
if all else fails, neg them.

Yes, and yes.
<< <i>What would you do? >>
I'd neg 'em anyway, perhaps, after filing an NPB and seeing if they would pay after that. If I negged them for being an NPB, any neg they give in return is clearly retaliatory, and one I think a savvy eBayer would ignore as such.

950 bucks. I haven't filed anything yet. How to call?

Try this link.
I had a similar problem, filed a non-pay strike and it really got the person's attention. They sent a check a few days later. The first thing I would do is file the strike.

Just a day past the point where we should have been paid but there's been no reply to our contact us asking to verify address and today to verify the payment being sent.

Go to the "Dispute Console" on the left hand side of the screen and open an Unpaid Item Dispute.
The buyer has 7 days to respond. You can close the dispute on day 8 and get your final value fees refunded.
If the buyer doesn't participate in the dispute resolution process, he can't leave you negative feedback (this is a new rule)

<< <i>Maybe we should give it another day or 2 and then file one of these strikes? >>
Up to you. That might be the "nice" thing to do. The only question is whether you personally believe you've already been nice enough.
How much time has elapsed since the auction ended?
The name is LEE!

I agree. I filed my b/c the guy was being a donkey. He just kept giving me the run around. It sounds like your situation might be different.

And that is how many total days since the auction ended?

HEY I tol ya I was short this week- and I ain't talking about my stature!
I think you can request buyer info from ebay and they can give you confirmation as to addy and ph# as in this case. 950.00 is a fair amount of $$ and if you don't file the NPB soon- you will be hit with the fees, only neg him after you have made a reasonable attempt to contact them, and the NPB- if all fails there- you can get out of the final fee and possibly the listing fee- if you have to relist the item.
Since when did you start sellin cheap stuff on the flea anyway?
sometimes if someone changes emails the checkout stuff doesn't get to them.

You are jumping WAY too soon. I have regular customers who take 10 to 14 days to pay without ever responding to the invoice. Payment just shows up. In fact, a couple of them are forum members.

can you start a new thread about them so we can bash them for slow payment?
I have cardboard collectors ignore my terms WEEKLY. I have my terms listed in my auctions and on my invoice in BOLD and every week there are still 3 or 4 that do as they please. I have blocked a couple for this. 2 weeks to get me 20.00 or less is a joke. The more expensive the card, the quicker people seem to pay though.

Yeah, there does seem to be a strong correlation between cheapasses and slow payment.

It's eBay. Get used to it. You'd be negging a third of your customers if you did so after only a week has gone by since auction end.

Lol ... no offense, but you guys crack me up. No payment for 6 days and you want to neg the buyer. Don't receive a coin and no refund after 6 weeks, and you are the devil if you neg the seller.
<< <i>but you guys crack me up >>
-More out of context drivel.
<< <i>and you want to neg the buyer. >>
- No one but the OP suggested this.

Apropos of the coin posse/aka caca: "The longer he spoke of his honor, the tighter I held to my purse."
It's eBay.
It is not like ordinary business no matter how much everyone wants or hopes it would be. If you realize that you are dealing with people that are not always business people, it will be easier on you IMO.
Joe.

First check out your buyer's feedback.
If they have a very good rating over a long period of time without any negative feedbacks or just a rare isolated negative months or years ago you probably are dealing with a good buyer and it would be inappropriate to get huffy and puffy real quickly.
During the summer, especially, many people travel and loose track of their bids they may have placed before leaving.
When the time comes ( perhaps two weeks to twenty days ), just get the contact information on your buyer and call them on the telephone before placing any negative. Occassionally, an otherwise reputable buyer was taken ill or otherwise unable to respond.
A courteous phone call often clarifies and resolves the situation.
Best of luck,
Richard
