The ending forum
The reason is given on that link. Some people just can't learn to scroll and seem determined to fight no matter what.
A loss for anyone interested in investing in gold or silver or even sometimes rare coins. An excellent source of viewpoints and opinions.
The new forum they propose may be an improvement. Or not.

This is a nice forum to discuss precious metals.

Very interesting. Public or member, on-line forums are a quirky lot. With the best of ideals and intentions, forums often get destroyed. It occurs when some butthead decides he/she has to be some kind of instigator or judge. The bashing turns into outright verbal fighting and soon the forum can not maintain it's purpose, it just becomes a venue for very poor behavior and most hosts won't go through the expense and time it takes to provide a forum under those circumstances. It takes considerable monitoring and management to maintain a good forum and when the forum is hijacked by evildoers...the host must pull the plug. I've seen it before and it is a terrible thing to happen to the relationships and friendships that develop...they just go poof into cyberspace. The nice thing about this forum is that it is well monitored and trolls don't survive long here and that's a good thing.
That being said, I did like the banter on the kitco site but it was ugly from time to time. I do like this coin forum and I hope is is longlived and can be maintained for the purposes our host had intended.
This has been a public information message, now back to your metal disks.
Coin on!
