Those appear to be very common- is there an estimate of the percentage of proofs from that year that had the accented hair?

I'm surprised the seller hasn't pulled the listing "because the item is no longer available."image

Breen said 1%. Others say as much as 3%. So, the range would be 40,000 to 120,000 coins. I think those estimates are low, and it's more like 5%, or 200,000 coins.

They were made until Mrs Kennedy nixed the portrait and they had to change the dies; about 7 -10 days worth of production made it out of Philadelphia.

Many have now found their way home.image

When I become fascinated with a certain issue, I usually end up having multiple examples, like a true hoarder... image

if there are 200,000 of them at $25 each you could corner the market for$5 million or 6,211 gold proof buffalos
