There is just over $2.00 difference between the certified and uncertified coins ($671.80 vs $669.71). They must have quite a deal with PCGS to be able to sell graded coins for only $2.00 more than ungraded.

edit: also interesting there are no MS68's? Is every coin the mint sells MS69 or does PCGS only give out MS69?

When they grade in bulk they can specify that no coins be slabbed that grade less than MS69.

Not worth it to buy them an put them on ebay. Fees kill ya.

Final value fee will be around $25 and paypal will be $25. You need to sell them for $720 just to break even.

But if your buying one, you might as well get the graded one. Even though 198 is a lot, think of all the coins these people have gone through. Pops aren't going to be as high as people think.

The premium was only 2 bucks more than the vanilla (non-certified) version. It's not like we paid stupid money for the First Strike title.

I was waiting to see if the price of gold was going to go down before they ran ouyt of stock. At one time, I noticed the price jump about $6 but settle back down to the $670 range.

As always, my habenaro pepper "tree" is growing more peppers that 2 families could ever use. I'm going to put a thread in the OPen Forum next week asking if anyone who will be in Baltimore wants some.

I was shocked that they only wanted $2 more for the PCGS graded version (1st strike or not).

If they do is it sorta like this....'this batch's weight is about uh er, MS69 let's call it...' Finalizer says, "Done deal, ship em out" [sound of Brinks truck backing up].

Gold was trending up mostly all week, it surprised a lot of people since it was a Holiday short trading week. N.Korea helped. It may continue it's upward trend next week so you did fine where you got in. Until the next correction image

I suspect that premium will disappear as the novelty wears off.

Certainly buy the MS69 instead of raw. But don't forget they'll be making these until December. You won't get the First Strike, but we all know that doesn't mean anything.

apmex will have as many MS69's as your willing to buy.

Specially if they are charging an extra $2 for a graded coin versus raw.

The more unsure about something that people are, the more they want confirmation. That they didn't make a mistake.
Without a ton of hype, from the USMint, etc (notice all the ads from the Mint? I didn't see that about a lot of other products), I doubt it would even come close to a sell out. If it doesn't sell out, and if gold doesn't run up a lot more, then it isn't a good buy.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
