I'm amazed that anyone would bid for such a thing on ebay. Whether the seller is legitimate or not, the opportunity for a scam is too great to take a risk.

The alarm bells are all sounding off too: a bunch of cheap miscellaneous stuff sold prior to this listing, and now this. Hmm...

Condition-Uncirculated. Yeah, No Kiddin'.

Yeah... a coin like that has a pretty low probability of being a pocket piece.

MadMarty · June 18, 2006 1:29PM

I would love to see the final value fee on that auction!!!

CIVITAS · June 19, 2006 3:07AM

A guy with a half a million dollar coin gives it to some eBay shlub with 14 feedback to sell on consignment. Riiiiiight............

Anyone need a bridge?

MrEureka · June 19, 2006 3:50AM

Well, the coin is said to be housed at HSBC in New York. Since that's my bank, I'll be glad to help out for a small 5% handling fee.

I just love these auctions for ridiculous items by sellers that have strange histories

Just look what else he has sold
