Photo hosting

I know we've been over this a hundred times or more, but I can't seem to find the appropriate thread to get the info I am looking for. Can anyone recommend a photo hosting site? I can't keep my photos big enough to post on here, so I will have to use an outside source for hosting.

I use vendio (formaly auctionwatch), it costs pennies and they work great with ebay (huge pics can be posted istead of these small free pics ebay offers

I just use a private web host--$8/month but they host all my sites, too, and I get 1 gig of space which I can use for websites, pictures of any size, and other files.

Plus, you can get a free domain name (and get me a referral bonus

)

It's free for up to 10 MB of memory. If you want more you can get 50 MB for $20 a year. I've been happy with it and its pretty easy to use although a bit slow at times.

Photobucket works great and its free. It works for forums, e-bay, websites etc...

They automatically create 3 types of links under each pic that you can just copy and paste into forum threads.

Doesn't your ISP have some amout of free webspace for you? Most do. You don't have to actually build a website -- you can just dump files there, and link them directly. Like this:

That's probably the easiest, and cheapest, since you're already paying for it.

That's true, but they usually also have a bandwidth limit.

I tried using my free space at sbcglobal.net, and after about 10 people look at the pic, the dreaded "Red X" starts appearing. Was useless, so I just use Collector's Universe space.

Since I originally posted this thread, I have follwed advice and been using Photobucket and have been very happy. At some point, I will probably get a web hosting service and get space with it, but for now, Photobucket comes highly recommended.

Photobucket Rocks. I've been using it for Months with Zero problems.

I can post some pretty large pics with it too on my ebay crap.

Just checked with Comcast and every subscriber with internet cable is entitled to PhotoShow software and room to upload photos for use in posts and email (I haven't hit any limitiations yet.) One interesting feature is the ability to share a customized coin slide show (although I suspect photos of objects other than coins would be OK too!)

I've been using pix8.net for a couple of years now. The site's easy to use and FREE!
