Who has the best and most user friendly coin website???

What makes it so nice and user friendly???

Trying to design mine, and see some nice things about many sites, but would love anyone's perspectives.

Thanks!

I like how Mark Feld has his website set up. No Bells or whistles. Nice coin descriptions, with price, and in ascending coin type order.

    Simple pictures are best!

    Heres Ben's

Hes a YN and just started this one. His inventory is alittle low at the moment, but its really easy to use.

    Easy and has great pictures...

you wont go wrong with simplicity.

Yep, Mark's site, (which was coded by Jeremy), is what a site should be.

I like Anaconda's because of the white background, good colors, easy to read font, and the excellent pictures, price, plus short description right off the bat, it makes it easy to decide if I want to get more information by selecting the link.

I found this site today by COPPERCOINS and liked what I saw.

If you want to buy something from the site I think DLRC is the best.

If you are just looking for simple I have had a few compliments on my site in my sig line. It is nothing special and is only setup to sell off extras and stuff I got pretty good deals on. I am trying to keep it simple and add stuff that I am interested in.

It's not paying for itself but its fun. It all started when I got tired of e-bay.

I like Anaconda's and Northeast Numismatics. Mine are decent.... see sig line. cm

David Lawrence. No question in my mind. I particularly like that I can check their entire NEW inventory every day without having to sith through the old stuff that I've already seen..... except when they post those auctions.

Hey, I hope nobody minds if I toot my own horn, but my website seems to be catching on, too.

If studying long term value trends of US coins is your thing, then perhaps this is worth checking out. There is also a heavy dosage of American history interspersed throughout the site.

Coin dealer sites I frequent the most include Goldberg Coins and Heritage.

I really like Anaconda & Millers Mint. Someone already noted Coppercoins web site but the Link took to his second one called Lincolncent.com. The better one is coppercoins.com.
The one site I don't like is VT coins. He really had some good prices but I just don't like a list of what has been sold. I wrote him that and haven't been back to that site since. Who cares what has been sold. I want to know what I CAN buy.
segoja, see you at the next coin show.

I like the Heritage site as best and user-friendly. More than 2,000 auction results in my preferred series (bust half dimes) are a huge asset. Examining coins and bidding online (if that's the way one chooses to bid) are easy tasks. Sure, the pictures of coins could be better, but I accept them as at least adequate.

As far as large dealers, I find Heritage and DLRC to be at the top of the game.

For smaller dealers, Mark Feld's is a very nice site -- short, sweet, and to the point, and this is saying nothing of his superior coins....Mike

Not sure what you mean, if you are talking about the word busy it happens to have a meaning, as in cluttered, see number 5 below.

bus·y Audio pronunciation of "busy" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (bz)
    adj. bus·i·er, bus·i·est

    1. Engaged in activity, as work; occupied.
    2. Sustaining much activity: a busy morning; a busy street.
    3. Meddlesome; prying.
    4. Being in use, as a telephone line.
    5. Cluttered with detail to the point of being distracting: a busy design.

IMHO, Heritage has the most valuable site to users!
PNG member, numismatic dealer since 1965. Operates a retail store, also has exhibited at over 1000 shows.
I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

I agree with a lot of the responses. If I could merge David Lawrence and Heritage, it would be a perfect site. DLRC has the best search functions I have used. Heritage has the best archives I have used. Each is weak in the other's strengths.

Heritage has the most "data", but finding things can be a huge pain. Since we are talking about the user interface, heritage is low on the list

Carl, I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Less than 1% of my coins are listed with the "Sold" tag. Go to my web site and check it out. You also emailed me and stated "Keep up the good prices and the easy to use web site."

I like AngelDee's site as basic and no-frills, but the one thing that drives me crazy is that the inventory list is in an image, so you can't search the page for a text string. I like to search out proof coins on different sites using a IE search like "PR6" for example.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

The thing I want most in a coin dealer/auction website is a wantlist feature. In this regard, DavidLawrence, Heritage, and Teletrade are best (and eBay). I'm just not going to surf around randomly looking and searching for coins. But if DavidLawrence sends me an email saying that they've got one of my wants, it's pretty much a done deal.

If there are any other sites that allow one to put in specific wants and have email sent when one hits, please let me know.

FYI, I build *custom* e-commerce web sites for a living, amonst other types of programming. They are database driven with a complete suite of web based administration tools. I am always looking to take on new clients who know what they want. PM me if interested.

Nicely done, but one criticism. The blue drop downs look a bit cheesy against the elegant appearance of the rest of the site.

Heritage, as I go there very often for information only. I also actively participate in auctions, but the free and voluminous info is invaluable.

The quick links on the left of Anaconda's page makes it incredibly easy to navigate. Being able to navigate I think it the most important part of a web site. Heritage hyperlinks to descriptions and pics of their other sales without forcing you to leave your original window. I think that's great, but otherwise, I find them kind of cumbersome. Probably because there is so much information to handle.
