An in depth Long Beach show report on toned treasures...

...I'd like to hear some, for I wasn't able to make it to the show.

Outside of that? Very little raw and the slabbed golden-boy coins were priced at full retail.

Yes Sir,
Do we still have a white-hot market?
In a recent email I received last week, one of the top world specialists in Bust Half dollars reported that after considerable research, this section of the market has, “ been very strong, prices started rising noticeably a couple of years ago. High quality pieces are now selling at 50% to 100% higher”.
One dealer who always has boxes of slabbed Morgan and Peace dollars didn't have any. His partner took them elsewhere. One dealer with multiple tables, who sells mostly raw coins at retail prices, usually has a huge selection. This time, this dealer only had a handful of coins out. Looks like they were using the show to buy. One dealer that stocks nice collector coins both raw and certified had sticker prices above retail. That dealer was still busy, but not as busy as sometimes.
I agree with braddick as what I was interested in I found the dealers to have that same "Not for sale attitude"---Tom
However, the one highlight was the NGC grading where I submitted 21 coins and 17 of them achieved the desired result! That was outstanding!
If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!
Gold went crazy==surprised?
My Barber half proofs did just fair. Only 12 sold in the auction, but 8 at the show. So it was okay.
Viewed the 2 best IKE collections at PCGS. Fab!
Attended one session of the Heritage auction, and got 2 CGH's. 1830 med O in 64, and 1834 lg date sm ltrs in 65. Both reasonable.
Saw no new bust halves on the floor, EXCEPT the Naples III collection, which was for sale at Premium Numismatics. This is a great set of 1793 to 1800 coins,( copper and silver) put together by Legends, and bought by Don Willis.
By the time I got there, over half had been sold. But I was able to grab 2 coins. 1797 dollar in AU 55, and 1797 half in AU 50. I now have the 1796 15 and 16 stars, and the 1797 for my set..
There are some great coins in this now to be separated collection. 1794 half in AU 58, 1794 dollar in XF 40, 1798 13 stars small eagle dollar in AU 58, 1796 quarter in AU 58( great toning), and some really rare copper--chain cent, wreath cent, early half dimes, and more.
It was the highlight of the show for me.

I cherrypicked a few thousand bucks in VAMs pretty quickly and checked out. The show just gave me the impression that there is still a captively interested and eager market but a serious lack of quality material. It just is not flowing like it was a year or two ago. Also look at Heritage's internet sales. ANACS and NCS holdered coins are far more represented than before, problem coins especially.

Did there seem to be any foreign buyers present, in any show of force?
Was there any talk among dealers about foreign buyers and coins going out of the country?
Are there any cool areas still left in the market?
Have there been any price moves in the more bullion related coins due to the moves in sliver?
<< <i>Here are a couple of questions for those that went to the show. Did there seem to be any foreign buyers present, in any show of force? Based on their accent and inability to formulate complete sentences, I'd say yes, there appeared to be a few people from Texas.

O.K. Braddick,
I agree this was a little awkward,
I cleaned it up the best I could!
Originally it read like this,
Did you’all see any foreign devils at this there show buying up lots of them there good coins?
Probably too cheap!
