link to a san fran token. is it from the 1840-50s?

thanks. i was surprised to see such strong bids for what i thought
was a fantasy piece.

any expert out there know the scoop on this token?

    I don't know squat about those tokens, but that looks like awefully dirty/toned gold. (and I know gold doesn't really tone)

    Well there are a very few genuine ones and a ton of unmarked modern copies on the market. The pictures are lousy but his coin appears to have the rough surfaces that I usually see on many of the fakes. I also thing that the coin has toned too darkly to be one of the real gold pieces. Chances of this pice being real is just about zero.

    Since the seller put a reserve on the coin, the seller must have believed the items was authentic! Reserve was not met.

    thanks all. i think it is a fantasy piece still.
    i guess the pictures do not allow for a good enough
    examination.
