That's funny. If keyword spamming is his objective, he missed the most searched company...PCGS.
  • MyqqyMyqqy Posts: 9,777
I saw those listings a couple of days ago- I think he's nailed very lame grading company out there.... image
My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable !
  • The reason PCGS was missing from that particular listing was that the item WAS ACTUALLY graded by PCGS and was in the Main Title. Each listing eliminates the actual grading company in the subtitle and places it in main title. Actually, I'm highly suspicious about this seller being associated with ANI, tuesdaynightcoins, saturdaynightcoins, and coinsat10. Town in Mississippi very near where I live and all these "sellers" (whom I believe are one and the same) are from where I live.

Could be wrong but the sub-titles aren't part of the search feature are they?

Okay - I just copied and pasted a chunk of that sub-title into a search and it didn't bring up the auction. I don't think this would qualify as keyword spamming.
  • Do an Advanced Search on ANI in Titles and Descriptions and you'll see what you uncover.

Guess I'm missing out on a lot of stuff. I never search the descriptions. I tried it a few times and it turned up a lot of unneccesary crap.

If you're describing you're item in the description page are you saying it isn't kosher to say "This is a PCGS" slab. It is much more respected then x, y, or z. This would still come up in your description search. Are you saying this is keyword spamming?

Personally, I think only the title is open for spamming complaints.
  • imageimageTextNow that is really hilarious,me key word spamming with every inferior slabber in todays market? Why would I Spam using those Brand X acronyms. I'm simply trying to prove a point here , particularly with the new guys buying these alphabet soup holders . I am Andy Desper , LADSALES on ebay. I am not and have never been affiliated with tuesdaynightcoins, thursdaynightdollars, coinsat10 , PQcopper or any other ebay seller. In fact my posting includes the ANI and PNGS so called slabs that they sell. I am and have been a collector first for 40 + years. I expecting to take it on the chin from these Brand X sellers but not from the PCGS messageboards. You should be applauding me !!!
  • The guy has NGC and PCGS slabs. He is 'reverse' keyword spamming.

I don't recomend it, but I don't care if he wants to point out he has the real goods. I wouldn't/won't turn him in... But that's just me.
  • image Amen Stiffy, as I stated, that is my point. I like your term, reverse keyword spamming. The only folks that should be turned off by my comments I suspect would be the sellers of those wonderful holders I mentioned.

For the record, you did just manage to get your PCGS coin listed in every inferior slab category. Spamming...reverse spamming...whatever you want to call it, it's an annoying way to list an auction. As a buyer I would not look twice at that. The second thing to consider is that tactic helped someone group you with some notoriously bad ebayers. image
  • First , Thanks Lloyd and Stoner. I appreciate that. Now, the reporter was successful in getting those auctions removed from ebay. AMAZING, people carrying on scams there 90 to nothing. Selling raw MS67 coins that aren't good AU's , not to mention all the cleaned , altered garbage. And the lower tiered TPG's another ball game all together, coins that don't even exist in the grades advertised. MS66 Trade Dollars for 400.00 , DMPL's that aren't even Semi PL . I try to address that and protect the newby in particular and what happens to me ? Auctions removed by ebay . AMAZING, you guys don't leave an honest man alone !!! Tell you what, if you have nothing better to do than to slam an honest man, better find another one. Real tired of this abuse and I can address that !!! You grand and glorious so called experts find another patsy.
  • Koindawg, you should be ashamed of yourself. You live in the middle of tuesdaynightcoins, thursdaynightdollars, coinsat10, saturdaynightcoins and even rafaelcoins on ebay. You attacked me without even knowing me. Why would you not even check my feedback or my last 30 days of auctions or something to find out about me before the slam. Anybody with any knowledge at all could see my point and I certainly wouldn't keyword slam with those TPG's . I accept your apology and that's the end of that. Please direct your attention at the real scammers.

I saw those auctions previously and figured the seller was trying to make fun of the "real" keyword spammers. I figured the crooked Ebay sellers would turn those in, not CU board members!! image

Hi Andy...welcome to the Boards. Sorry it had to be in this manner. I look forward to seeing some articulate and informed posts from you...BTW, don't you still owe me dinner from an old bet on Old Miss v. Arkansas? image

Lad, I agree with many here that kind of spamming is annoying. What is more annoying though are those who stumble all over themselves to taddle.
  • Thanks Doug, though I have learned as much from you !! Taught me a lesson concerning color. Always been my pleasure to deal with you and look forward to future deals. BTW, Very Nice Listings !!!
  • Hello peelin Onions, A sincere apology for confusion on my auctions. I promise my intention was never keyword spamming. I guess anybody that knows anything knows that. I certainly would not have listed those unmentionables for benefit. Take Care ! Andy
  • LAD, I understood what you were doing. I think it was cool for a change to see that... image

What happened was Koin dawg just plain misunderstood. We see all kinds of spamming here, and it usually is a person spamming for personal gain. Rare is the person doing what you did. Actually, I never saw it before and had to figure it out.

That why it was misunderstood. Everything that happened was because of a total misunderstanding. I think koindawg really wants to be off your blocked list, and he will behave himself and pay for the coin etc.

It really seems to be an honest mistake... His heart was in the right place, just a mistake. He thought you were one of the bad guys because the bad guys keyword spam.

Hope you understand and take him off the list.

Sorry for any inconvenience the forum caused. They mean well here. Just like you... image
  • Hi Stiffy, I do understand . I'm sorry that my point was mistaken for Spamming. I guess the upsetting thing was that someone who doesn't know me would attack . I'm sure that KoinDawg had good intentions. Today , all is forgiven. I apologize for any that I mistakenly wronged , and I forgive those who wronged me for whatever reason. Hope to see you all here again under more pleasant circumstances.
