Is this a 1981 SBA type 1 or type 2 -- better pic added
Can you tell from this scan if this is a type 1 or type 2. I've looked at this many times and just can't tell. Hopefully the scan isn't too blurry as it is at max 1200%. Scan is of the coin in its proof set.

Try this link......it might help........
A newer die impression into a metal disc would make a wider impression as compared to a worn die.
The flat *S* refers to looking above the S .............take a tube of toothpaste......squeeze it out into an S .....and lightly flatten it...with clear saren wrap...Notice the difference before and after.............
type 1= S comes to a point like a pyramid like /
type 2= S is flat on top, no point like _
