I wish it were mine; I can only afford the $50s if I want to do backdates, and I'm still a couple of months away from ordering one. I'm torn on if I like it more than the 2004 design, but the '98 is still my all time favorite.

Here's a 2004, also taken from a ModernCoinMart ad for comparison.

I still prefer the 98 and 99 than any of the other issues. image

The 06 is a lovely coin and it beats the heck out of dead presidents but it is a "little buzzy and cluttered" in my opinion. The 04 does not suffer from this. I like the 98 also. Glad they made lots of them so more people can have one.

The one I like the most of the three coin democracy series is the eagle and the owl perched together in 08. Reminds me of the Pan-Pacs of 1915 and you know how much I like to talk about them. :-)

Does anybody have a copy of the picture of the statue this design is based upon?

Cool... I can take credit for devising the photo setup that produced that shot image However, it's JrGman2004 who would have taken the picture, since I'm 1000 miles away from the office now...

It's a nice looking coin, the photo really does a good job of capturing lighting highlights, but... Miss Liberty looks pregnant and like she has a mouth full of something that tastes bad!

I was right! The seller is a fraud and has doctored the images. Here is a closeup of his pic. Notice the blue banding, lack of smooth dithering and obvious edits on the right side of the bun on her head. FRAUD!!!

Very nice contrast. In fact, it's perfect for a computer image. It's clearly DCAM, and yet you can see all the small design elements very easily.

So I guess people have already received their coins since I see 11 PR70DCAM as the pop in the registry for the 2006 $50

Wow, they didn't even do a color sample to try and match-- it's straight black! Good catch-- obvious edit. It's a great picture of look at for an example of the design, but I wouldn't want to buy one.
