I have had good experience with American Gold Exchange, both buying and selling.

I'd recommend Mystic Coin in San Diego for extremely competitive buy and sell prices.

Wouldn't it make more sense to sell to a local dealer and save yourself the postage, insurance and hassel? Also, wouldn't you make more money by selling on e-bay?

Ebay silver is hot, especially the silver art bars. People buying at $15-$18/ounce plus postage of $5-$8 bucks on top of that. I was watching some of the Buffalo and Eagle 1 oz pieces no rhyme or reason just people buying on a fling.

  • eBay silver prices make NO sense. Hundred ounce bars (aren't these supposed to be the CHEAPEST way to buy silver) are way over spot. SAEs of course sell for stupid sums.

Deals still to be found in pre-1964 US silver. That's what I've been buying.

My local dealer is a great guy and I visit about once every week or two.I get some great buys from him and even get left in charge of the store every once in awhile. But his buy prices on 90% is a little low and he is up front about it to me.
Even though I have been a member of Ebay several years, both buying and selling,I have pretty much stopped doing either on Ebay for alot of the reasons discussed on these boards, although personnally I have not had many problems.
Thanks to everyone for your input.

The only thing i don't like about a few of the places is that they don't take credit cards on the buy side.
