How is this legal?

Look at the ebay auction. Im in the wrong business I guess. Good and profitable way of getting rid of your trash I guess.

AS long as he provided the minimum he could send 2 worn morgans and 5 lincoln cents.

He's sucker hunting and my guess is he will find some.

I don't like the idea that someone has to pay within two days, and he will ship within five... image

"Mystery Lots" are allowed on eBay.

But his statement IF BIDS GET HIGH.I WILL ADD MORE COINS. is not allowed.

He has to state the amount needed for bonus coins, not just HIGH

    He found 3 suckers @ $30 though

There might be some eBay rule that the seller has ignored, but I don't really see a problem with this auction. He started it at 99c (below face), and let the bids fall where they may. At $30 (current bid), it's not an atrocious price -- the silver alone is worth more than $20. I'm guessing the five other coins are well-worn wheats.

As eBay crimes go, this one is very minor. Move along.

I like his grammer. A dead give away for a shrewd seller

If you haven't noticed, I'm single and miserable and I've got four albums of bitching about it that I would offer as proof.

I don't know if things have changed significantly, but I remember an auction I bid on similar to this that was ended early by Ebay specifically because it violated Ebay policy. In mine, a GAE + "other coins" were being offered. It wasn't stated specifically in the auction what you'd get, the gold coin or the mystery coins. Sounds similar to this, doesn't it?

That's a great scam. Whatever the seller bids/wins with, you send 2 hole-filler morgans and a shiny new penny, nickel, dime, quarter and half and you're all set! The seller always makes 50-100% profit and the buyers technically get what is offered. Makes you with you could easily set up bogus accounts just to bid these out of existence.

    Seller states, in auction test:
"100% positive feedback with coin sales..."

Ahhh.... not anymore... check his most recent feedback (and it's for the same type of auction). image

Plus, this seller clearly uses retaliatory negative feedback. Another reason to stay away.
