Appears to be a legit seller with a bad attribution. Happens all the time with Morgan vams. We
usually send them a very polite message with a link to what the variety really looks like.

Most likely another strike doubled example being misattributed. I just sent him a question with a link to one of the real PCGS certified examples in the Heritage archives, I'll let you know if I get a reply.

Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.

Keyword spam. The coin he's selling is not a PCGS certified coin.

Not to mention blatant keyword spamming.

    Heard back from the seller:

<< <i>Hi, thank you for your honesty. I had no idea, there were so many different types. As you can see I'm new at this. I did revise the auction. If you would please review it, and let me know if the discription is correct. It's not my intention to defraud anyone. Thanks. >>

I haven't gone back to the listing yet, but the seller sounds honest enough - a little underinformed, maybe, but honest.

  • Looks like the seller did the right thing. He refers to it in his auction as "machine doubling" now, and has removed any references to the PCGS price guide for a 1969-S DDO.

I bid .05, just to get the ball rolling for him. Seems like a nice enough guy.
If you haven't noticed, I'm single and miserable and I've got four albums of bitching about it that I would offer as proof.
