What feedback would you give?
Hi, Everyone.
I just got another Merc in the mail today. This one's raw. Here is the auction. The auction says "full split bands", but the coin in hand most certainly doesn't have full bands

The thing is, I'm not sure if the misrepresentation is intentional, and they did supply a picture. How would you handle it?

If you haven't noticed, I'm single and miserable and I've got four albums of bitching about it that I would offer as proof.

Underline the part of their add that says full split bands, then show them the coin. Scan it.
Or don't bother just leave nuetral feedback.
Thanks for the coin. I've posted positive feedback. Just to let you know, for a Mercury dime to qualify as Full Split Bands, all bands on the reverse need to be split. That's not the case with the dime in this auction, but it's obviously the coin in the picture so I'm happy with it. Thanks for the smooth transaction.
Regards,
Brian

Actually, the wear on the upper and lower bands is a good marker. They match on the two coins. If I'd used more light, and/or Photoshopped the dime, the two pictures would look exactly the same. Mine came out a little darker.

WEAR ?. The auction said MS64. No wear should be present.
Just for your information. To receive the Full Band designation from PCGS only the middle band must be split.

D'oh!!
You're right. The bottom band does seem (to me) to have wear on it, though, now that it's in hand. It has a flattened appearance that I don't know that you'd get from just a weak strike.
Thanks for the clarification on the "full bands" designation, too. Actually, using that criteria (rather than the one I had in mind, where all the bands were split), I think it might pass as FB. I can't get a good shot of them, but the center bands do look like they have a thin line running straight across when I look under a loupe. (Kind of like that slabbed one that I posted awhile ago.) The top and bottom bands are clearly goners, though.

In fact what you just described as a barely faint line running down the center often qualifies for FSB these days. This is far different than what it took for FSB in 1990 for example. The seller can't be faulted much here considering that it has 90% or more of the detail of many slabbed FSB's. If the grading services have stretched the truth then why not ebay sellers?
