100 Oz Silver bar?

I just received a 100 (?) Oz silver bar through ebay and it has a strange look. The top and bottom egdes are rounded but the side edges were cut with what appears to be a circular saw.
Did this person shave the bar and am I getting hosed image or do englehard 100 Oz bars have cut sides? I don't have a scale on me to verify weight.

    Extruded bars have that circular cut look to the ends of them. That's because they are cut, but hardly with a circular saw.

    Post a pic and we'll know.

    You attempted to link the picture while it is on your C: drive.

    The only one that can see it is you, because we all have no access to your c: drive.

    you cant post a pic from your hard drive. either upload to internet or cu fourm servers.

    It's probably a good bar and was ground down to the proper weight.

    Most bars are slightly heavy and you should beware those which are right on or light.

    When buying the 100 Ozt Englehardt it is a good idea to "ring" them since some have been drilled out and most of the silver removed.

    How about a Engelhard bar with a small drill hole on the top of it. maybe 1/8 to 1/4 inch wide and very shallow. Is that common? The place that I bought it from said that its common and not to worry about it. I'd be concerned but it seems like a reputable place to buy from, at least by people on these boards.

    A local dealer here bought one of those drilled out 100 a while back. Apparently the guy selling used the fast talker, need some quick cash approach tactic. The dealer thinking he was getting a good price, found out otherwise, and was p!ssed to say the least.

    That looks like milling marks on the back but it sure doesn't look like a 100 OZ bar! Maybe a 10 onzer? Have you weighed it?

    Your bar does have a slightly bevelled edge while mine is flat with grooves like it was sawed.
    But my bar has a the word "englehard" outlined and yours does not.
    Not sure if there are differences in the way englehard makes bars.
    I hate to make a stink unless I am sure so I am going to call it good until I get it to a scale...at least it doesn't have holes in it.

    Englehard made several different types of bars over the years.

    Yours is an extruded one, but one of the older types. While that edge looks a little rougher than most, it's most likely OK. A better picture showing the entire bar would be much more helpful. The ones with small holes drilled in them are fine also. The weight was over on the original, so a bit was removed by drilling.

    The smooth beveled edges came later and were the most modern of them all. They are best looking, IMO, as well.
