Okay, last one for awhile (I am exceeding my computer time allowance

). I got this one in the mail awhile back, and there was a crack in the plastic holder. I looked at it about a year later and saw the definitely un-lovely 'toning' it acquired.

The giveaway...post to this thread (no comment of signficance required...just post) by Sunday at noon my time and I will pick a "lucky" person who will be the recipient of this piece of bullion. The only rule is if you win, then you have to post and tell what you are really going to do with it

I'd leave it as is. You have some toning coming in. Let it tone for a few years, get it slabbed, and sell it for 10K.

It's silver, it's only my lack of photo skills that let it look gold

I know nothing about dipping silver either and am too chicken to try it. This one in it's normal condition would sell for more than bullion, but not enough to take it to NCS, IMO

Since it is a modern coin, carefully dipping it, then letting it age for 20-30 years would work out just about right.
Tough decision on whether to put it back in a airtight or not right away.

I would dip it carefully, put it in an airtite, and then send it to my 10 year old grandson in Norway who collects animals on coins. He would love it.

I'd break it out, carefully dip it, put it in an mylar holder and leave the horse head side facing up.

I'd put it in an airtite and definitely display it horse-side-up! That's one beautiful design!! I hope I can win it and display it in a setting worthy of its beauty! It almost looks at first glance like it's cold outside, and the horse's breath is coming out in the form of the Chinese characters! Neat effect! Don't know if that was intentional or not - - just my immediate response to the pic........

I would dip it... A nice blast white, just as it was minted look is what I personally prefer on a beautiful newer piece like that.

If you decide to remove the coin and take action on the tarnish,,,Dip a Q-tip in a diluted solution of remover and ROLL<<<REPEAT ROLL the Q-Tip over the area to remove the tarnish. rince thouroughly and Air-tite

I suppose that it would best be left as is........ While it's a coin i would like to own, I'd probably find a nice bezel with a protective shield and give it to my sister who raise's horse's and just survived chemo for breast cancer.

I would dip it and put it into a cotton pouch inside of a kraft 2x2 paper flip.....let it age 10-20 years and it will have a nice rainbow peripheral toning......maybe.

I said dip that sucker. Mainly because if I win I would really appreciate being able to practice my dipping technique before I attempt to dip a 1927 UK proof crown I have that has a touch of PVC.
