live in Metairie, just outside of New Orleans. My house is only around a mile from the breach of the 17th street canal. However, I am on the other side of the canal from the actual breach. I did lose a $50 bag of 1963D cents that had never been opened. Since the storm I have opened the bag and have put $15 dollars back into circulation. If anyone is intrested in owning a roll of 1963D pennies that were in hurricane Katrine let me know. I will send them to you for cost plus shipping. They have a good bit of color to them. Would you call this AT or NT

I posted this several days ago. And I have had only one responce. (the coins where mailed) I will send the first ten people who PM to this post a roll of 1963D cents that have been in Katrine flood waters. I can say the water at my house were only a foot deep and not this kind that contained any ucky stuff. This is the first time any of these coins have seen the light of day.

OK, I know the USS Republic ship Wreck people from Oddesy are opening a museum/exibit here in N.O. but no there is no ship wreck effect going on. I have a fifty dollar bag of 1963 D Lincon cents that were under a foot of Katina flood waters. Period. I have been through a third of the bag. I have seen nothing special, but I will send a roll to the first ten people who PM me with their name and address. At his time I have received five names, who will get coins.

I have noticed a lot of Katrina coins that have nice color to them. Something about raw sewage brings out the beauty in coins.

Like I said my entire collection evacuated with me except for a bag of 1963 D cents that I forgot. I consider these coins ruined. I am offering a roll to the first ten people who PM me their name and address. They are not beautifully toned. They do have toning. I think any copper coin put under water would have. These are just offered as a intresting item and nothing more.

There are only four rolls left. I will send a roll of 1963 D cents to the next four poeple who PM me. However, I will be going out the parades the next day or two so please be cut me some slack until the madness is over.

What Katina coins are you speaking of? I am not trying to sell anything. This is a give away. However, if you know of some cool Katrina coins for sell I may be intrested.

I hope you didn't take my post in a negative way. I work in Covington and have seen a lot of coins from local banks that were obviously in the storm. I even started a thread a little while back.katrina
