1971-S Proof 70 Dcam on TT ... *Not my coin*

Any guesses what it will bring?

First I have seen one of these for sale...

The photograph makes it appear that the coin has problems around the "E PLURIBUS" on the reverse as well as near the eagle's left wing. I also wonder if something is going on between the B and E in liberty. I would be very hesitant to bid on that coin (assuming I was collecting that sort of coin) unless I was assured by someone who could see the coin that these issues are due to the photograph and do not exist on the coin. I guess I worry too much about a 70 turning in the holder and then having to go through the hassle and uncertainty of using the PCGS guarantee. (Though I hasten to add thank goodness for the PCGS guarantee!)

Actually, it's freshly graded. Bar code on the front, no coin or series number.

Could be freshly reholdered. The Pop Reports (old and new) would confirm either way.

Main pop report still shows zero graded. Entering by coin number shows 2 graded. It's very fresh.

I say the coin will fetch 7K or more.
(I wonder what the 'reserve' is?)

Must be a fresh one. I did not see any 71-S PR70DCAM be graded until the TT photos. If you check PCGS pop today, it is still pop ZERO.
Remember, some time ago, suddenly 71-S PR69 pop jump by 3000+ and none 70DCAM was graded.

there description says 2 graded as well

    do they have them both?

should sell for lots except there are close to 7000 graded in PR69 DCAM image

  • Question is... This coin does not look much different than the hundreds of PR69 DCAMs I have seen in my hands...

It actually has more chatter than some I have seen.

Too much haze in the fields. I bet the registry competition will heat up with this one. Anything goes.

Could be stuff on the holder. Take a look at this one:

None of the crap appearing in the image is on the coin.

Is that your coin on TT Russ? Referring to the Kennedy.

Wasn't my coin, but is now. I bought it fully expecting it to need conservation. I was surprised when I got it in and found that it didn't.
