Tell us as much about your work as you're comfortable telling. Don't worry, we won't turn you in to the FBI.

I goof off most of the time (if you haven't noticed). Surprisingly, I am still the most productive member of my group. image What the heck are the rest doing?

I've had someone tell me that they place a coin over a sulfur water bath (well water with a high sulfur content and then added sulfur) in a container and put a heat lamp on it. The ones I saw had a slight orange tinge on the edges. For his sake, I hope there develops much more color. Otherwise I don't see that much benefit.

Lets see, the coin doctor makes a living doing two basic services.

They repair and camaflage coins from dealers specifically to make them

slabbable and salable. The other service is to produce toned monster coins

to feed the insatiable demand from collectors. All in all everyone should be happy.

I make money, the dealer makes money, the TPG make money and the collector

gets what they want for their collection. I create wealth out of thin air. I take a 10 dollar

coin and turn it into a 14,000 dollar coin. I make the coin world expand. What the

coin doctor does is no different from the drug pushers, pimps or makers of X films and snuff films.

We give the customer what the want. Much of our top tier work ends up in the finest collections.

Everyone who is anyone in the coin bussiness knows who we are and yet, no one seems able to find us.

Know why.......Its because we make people money.......a lot of money.....and we make the collector with money

happy. We create beauty where there was non we create something out of nothing. We can put mint marks on

and we can take them off. We can fill gouges, cover wear and tone like a sunset. We can make coins look better

then when they were new. If we did not exist, dealers and collectors would demand our creation, would demand

our services. Thru all the uproar, smoke and mirrors, no one really wants us to go away, everyone benefits from our

presence. Why, we are even envited to dine with some of the formost people in the hobby.image

Counterfeiters got it over Doctors anyday. They take a lump of metal and create a masterpiece. Adding more die varieties to enrich the lives of those that cherish that avenue of numismatics.

Although sometimes I'm sure a Doctors skills are needed to make-up a weak area.

This is why numismatics has so much slime and decadence.... capitalism feeding upon itself.... image
