I think they might not generally allow free email accounts because that is how many of the PCGS and NGC trolls register. Send an email to boards@collectors-society.com and ask them how to register in your case.

I guess those of us who pay for our own internet access. How is it that you are using the internet? Free access at school, or Daddy and Mommy funded internet?

Seems to be a rather narrow view of numismatics. While the NGC site is quite a bit slower than the PCGS site please remember that most of us can learn from anybody anywhere.

they probably want you to sign up through your ISP, which you pay for.......ex. dicky@comcast.net or dicky@prodigy.net. Probably something to do with being able to trace you.

Sleepy hollow is waking up. There has been a significant increase in active posters and postings over the past few months.

Because with a free email account it's harder to trace the person if they need to come knocking on your door when it's time to answer for your transgressions.
There are some excellent numismatists who prefer to post over there. There are also threads that get posted simultaneously at both places. Here, an interesting thread might get buried quickly and missed, while over there, it just might stick around long enough for me to see it. An excellent example is a terrific thread on advice for buffalo nickel collectors, which I just read this morning.

I pay for an isp and I get several email accounts. I also own websites and I get an almost unlimited supply of email accounts. I work and I have an email account there too. None of those are 'free email accounts' in the sense that NGC is talking about.
The probable reason they ban free email accounts is that they are where a lot of trolls and spammers come from because they are mostly throw away accounts with no accountability attached to them. It saves having to moderate some of that stuff. They probably figure that most people who have an ISP or Job or connect to the internet have an email that can be used with their service.

I have several URL's registered for different businesses. All host email accounts for me at no additional cost.
Also, many sites don't allow you to register with a free account

Maybe if all the lurkers like yourself would contribute then there would be more activity.
